Icarus Interstellar Incorporated General Policies
Player-Versus-Player (PvP) – General Considerations:
PvP is a fact of Star Citizen, and at times, we will find ourselves unexpectedly fighting with other players due to any number of gameplay reasons. Icarus Interstellar Incorporated will fully participate in both PvP and PvE. We realize that not all members will want to participate in PvP, so we will leverage those that do enjoy PvP to assist those that do not. Members that enjoy PvP may be enlisted to assist with various missions requiring defensive measures be taken and help with basic training. It is suggested that all members at least learn the basics of defense.
Player-Versus-Player (PvP) – Security Section:
The Security Section will actively participate in PvP and become the top tier defenders of our organization. They will participate in all game content, including fleet defense, escort missions, and efforts to help with the war. All actions will be consistent with our principles and values. Members participating in corporate security may be required to complete various training exercises.
VoIP for Out of Game Use:
We currently use Discord voice channels for organizational use, along with Discord chat channels and forums. VoIP is a valuable social tool for organizations. Because of this, it is required that all full members be able to use it when required. Organizational, project, and event planning will primarily remain on the Discord chat channels and forums, but VoIP planning sessions may be necessary.
VoIP for In-Game Regular Use and Roleplay Use:
It is required that all members be willing and able to use our Discord VoIP for communication while in game. This will be essential for coordination of missions and reacting to fast-paced action when it occurs. However, text may still be used to interact with other organizations and players when playing.
As for roleplay, historically, text-based communication has been used. However, Star Citizen has its own internal VoIP system that attenuates over distance and uses many variables such as obstacles to affect sound. This will allow us to easily and naturally roleplay using voice for more immersion. We will use either Discord roleplay voice channels or in-game VoIP.
Piracy and the “Shady Side of III”:
Not all of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated’s ventures will be legal. Some of the corporation’s activities will be outside the normal realm of lawful activity, as well as outside the normal channels of communication, and “not associated” with the corporation.
If a member is interested in the unlawful “shady side” of our organization, we will have a group that will participate in such activities as piracy. Because of the delicate nature of running unlawful activities within a lawful organization, careful planning will be required. The format and structure of how this is done will be continually updated. Any interested members should reach out to a Leader or Officer for direction.
Ship Ownership and Organization Hangar (when implemented):
Needless to say, any member’s ships are their own to do with as they please. If a member wishes to share certain ships with trusted organization members, they may do so at their own discretion. Members will never be pressured into adding ships to the shared organization hangar. However, and with that said, we do have a sizable fleet of organization ships for our members to use thanks to generous organization members.
Organization Hangar (when implemented):
These ships and vehicles are available through the shared organization hangar. The Leaders and Officers will be responsible for the use of these ships and vehicles. These ships and vehicles may be owned by anyone, but admin rights will be updated to allow the Leaders and Officers to use them as needed. These ships will be considered to have been “temporarily donated” to the organization, but will, of course, still be owned by the original owner who is free to change the status of the ship at any time.
Leadership Structure:
Icarus Interstellar Incorporated is first and foremost a group of friends and org mates. Everyone’s input is valued and taken into consideration. With that said, it is not a democracy per se. Our goal is to provide a stable, comfortable, and drama-free organizational atmosphere.
Therefore, we have the top tier Leader role charged with running the organization. Subordinate to the Leader role is the Officer role which will assist in that responsibility. All members, even new members, through hard work and dedication will have the ability to gain leadership positions.
Current Leaders:
Ledberry (Planning, General Operations, and RP Coordination)
Skymaster (Marketing, Website Design, and Communications)
Drebb (Personnel, Recruiting, and Logistics)
Current Officers:

Leadership Team Responsibility:
The entire leadership team are caretakers of this organization. They are tasked with making sure this organization is successful, operates smoothly, grows, and reflects our founding principles, policies and bylaws.
- While every member of the organization is expected to follow our founding principles, policies and bylaws, officers are expected to lead by example. In our forums and in any public forum it is expected that every officer will always act with respect and courtesy – even to those who do not adhere to our principles.
- The leadership team will strive to make sure this organization continues to have a high-quality, welcoming, friendly, and drama-free atmosphere, while ensuring new members have the resources they need to become a successful part of the group. Policies and bylaws will be reviewed, modified, or added as needed in order to do this.
- The leadership team will make sure that all members of the organization understand and adhere to the bylaws of this organization and the Terms of Service put forth by CIG. Should behavior be observed that is in violation of our founding principles, policies, bylaws, or the ToS of CIG, the leadership team will take immediate corrective action, which may include suspension and/or removal from the organization.
- It is impossible to cover all possible “common sense” policies and bylaws. Therefore, the leadership team will have the responsibility to review and make decisions for anything that is not specifically covered. All leadership team members have the authority to independently make decisions for the organization, which will then be reviewed by the other officers as soon as possible.
- The leadership team will make sure our organization is supportive of all forms of diversity, including different cultures, races, ages, religions, nationalities, sexual orientation, and playstyles, among its membership. No member should ever be made to feel unwelcome.
- It is understood and accepted that real life priorities come before gaming. The leadership team will assist members, when needed, with membership participation questions, membership role changes, and leave requests. Officers will also monitor for such needs and offer assistance.
Disciplinary Process:
Unfortunately, all organizations must have a process for disciplinary action. The leadership team will be tasked with the responsibility to enact this process. Although it is impossible to cover all the ways in which this process should be used, the following is the general process.
All leadership team members have the authority to independently make decisions for the organization, which will then be reviewed by the other officers as soon as possible.
The Leader or Officer in charge of personnel are the primary leadership team members responsible for member complaints and reported violations of our bylaws. All member complaints and reports of violations should be submitted to a Leader or Officer to review and take action as needed.
